Baja Cruiser

This 2002 Sportsmobile Ford E350 4x4 came to us with dire need for modernization. The overhaul included adding interior cabinetry built from baltic birch and painted a farmhouse white, butcher block countertop with a beautiful Dometic SMEV collapsable sink, a removable plumbing system with 12 gallons of freshwater and 6 gallons of grey water capacity (including quick change no-drip fittings),  and Dometic fridge/freezer combo mounted in the galley.

A console cabinet was built for extra storage and for top placement of  a dog bed, where the owners right-hand pup can ride shotgun. With quick release hardware, the console unit allows easy swivel action of the passenger seat and modularity when easier flow from cockpit to rear is preferred.

This build supports 200ah of lithium ion Battle Born Batteries with 380 watts of solar power and 360 watts of dc-dc charging. Heating is handled by the Webasto gasoline fired furnace with digital controller, fed directly from the vehicle fuel tank.

With its new lease on life, this van is ready for adventures to Baja and beyond!
