CALFIRE HELI TRAILER

This 2016 Featherlight Cargo Trailer was converted from an empty shell to a maintenance/service trailer for a CalFire response team. The build was commissioned to focus on hauling and powering maintenance equipment for this helicopter response team while on site during extended fire calls. 

The build includes 1320 watts of solar, a 24 volt, 5200 watt/hour lithium battery bank, a 12 volt accessory system and a 3000 watt inverter/charger powering 9 interior outlets and 2 exterior outlets for 120 volt maintenance equipment and other amenities to make the on site day to day of fire fighting more bearable. The robust solar and battery bank is even capable of powering the 15k btu dometic air conditioner unit on solar alone. 

An awning and windows were added for additional comfort while on the ground. A wind sensor in the awning even allows automatic retraction for this heli pilot, who can trigger it to retract when preparing to land. How awesome!

No cabinetry was installed inside, as space was desired for transporting a vehicle and maintenance equipment.
